Arrey Nico Bate, AKA Bate Nico is a household name in Manyu Division and folklore redemption,he was named "Cultural Ambassador". Indeed the name fits him well due to his likeable personality, charisma and ability to showcase Manyu culture through his lyrics and videos. In 2006 Bate Nico received the best folklore award by the Amongst Youth Magazine and in 2008 was chosen to represent the South West Region during the FENAC festival in Maroua. Mr Arrey Nico Bate started music professionally in the year 1987. At an early age he drew inspiration from his Father, Pa Arrey Ebot Joseph who was the founder of Manyu Nguh Njoh Dance where he was privileged to learn, dance and sing folklore. He has since produced 18  albums, multiple audios and videos with sales reaching the entire world. 



       He is actively engaged by the Ministry of culture during national festivities. Bate Nico's cast is made up of his musical troupe nickname Ache Manyu production group, consisting of his wife Enow Regina Nkongho, " Nkongho Regina" numerous dancers and children. His videos can be found on YouTube and a first choice during Manyu ceremonies in the United States, Europe and Africa. Today Bate Nico has become the embodiment of the Manyu cultural excitement translating folk tales into music and bringing into light the social, economic and development plight of the Manyu people and Cameroon society. He is no doubt a true Manyu legend.


Bate Nico one of the most famous Manyu artists who stormed the USA at the end of 2010. He met Manyu people in various cities and displayed Manyu dance and culture in Atlanta and and Washington DC. He pulled crowds of Manyu people in the USA, some of whom have not been home for more than thirty years.                                                                      Bate Nico Honoured For Fight Against Female Circumcision






          Bate Nico mutengene based artist,who hails from Manyu Division, south West Region has been awarded the prize of the Best Manyu folklore Artist. 
This information is the subject of a Pres release dated May 5, 2010 from Manyu Elements Cultural and Development Association, MECA USA. According to the release Bate uses his beautiful lyrics to tackle the issue of female Circumcision, raising public awareness through education and championing the call to abolish the cruel and inhuman practice in Manyu land. 
  The MECA USA document quotes Bate as saying, "Female Circumcision violates the right to good health, physical integrity and depriving the young girl the right to education.

            The document signed by Moses Deba, Public Relations Officer, MECA USA, highlights a UNICEF study, which says," It is estimated that between 100 and 140 million girls and women in the world have undergone female Circumcision, with 3 million more at risk of experiencing it every year. The target group of girls 0-5 years old". For his humanitarian effort through music and bringing to the limelight the evil of Female Genital Mutilation, MECA USA, in its 20th Annual Convention slated July 2-4 2010 in  Atlanta, Georgia, will be honouring an individual, Bate Nico on a social and cultural issue that has left pains on millions of people across the world. " It will be the first time MECA USA is honouring an individual, the release noted. The MECA USA convention is an annual gathering that attracts descendants of Manyu Division, friends and supporters across continental USA, Europe and Africa to discuss and formulate politics on issues pertaining to Manyu development.
The event serves is a fundraiser for the association, which seeks sponsorship and donations to further their projects for the needy and related developments.
